Client is looking for a candidate who could analyze a portfolio of 17 million $ of Reinsurance claims that date back from the mid 60's to the mid 80k's.  The candidate must have experience in reading the status report and recommend reserves and payments on claims or deny claims with a reason.    Strong knowledge of contracts and underwriting procedures.



POSITION DESCRIPTION



Reinsurance CLAIMS ANALYST





            A Reinsurance Claims Analyst will be responsible for reviewing insurance contracts and settlement processing.  The responsibilities will include the following:



*        Account Reconciliations, recoverable aging and collection analysis.



*        Investigate, evaluate and resolve assumed reinsurance claims, reviews direct or ceded coverages.



*        Understand how interpretation of contract language affects claims evaluation and acceptance.



*        Appropriately monitor claims activity and the financial impact to a company.



*        Communicate with clients and prepare internal written status reports.



*        Evaluate the claims management of a ceding company, respond to all reinsurance inquiries.



*        Secures information for thorough complete investigation from the ceding companies and/or brokers.



*        Determines cause, scope and amount of loss to the involved policies and treaties, confirms coverage and assesses exposure potential.



*        Makes recommendations concerning coverage position and reserves for ultimate exposure to the agreements.



*        Negotiates reinsurance claims issues with ceding company personnel and/or brokers and resolves cases within authority.



*        Makes recommendations on claims handling policy and processes to management.



*        Monitor large loss notices.



*        Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company's discretion.




The individual in this position must have strong interpersonal communication, ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business partners and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software
