[Fredslist] Coastal fieldtrips for New Jersey Gothamites

Greetings

I have been on the Board of Trustees of the American Littoral Society   
for a number of years.  Based on Sandy Hook in New Jersey, ALS's  
mission is to protect coastal areas fro the use by all.

While open to anyone they have a field-based program - Coastal  
Encounters - that wold be of interest to teachers as well as community  
groups  in New Jersey -for seeing and learning about the coastal  
environments on Sandy Hook.  As a former military base and now part of  
the Gateway National Recreation area, Sandy Hook is a unique, one-of-a- 
kind and pristine coastal area, with estuary waters, beaches and  
remnants from WW 2.
