[Fredslist] I need a contact at Masbeth Federal Savings

Dear Gotham,

 

Does anyone have a good contact in the home mortgage department of Masbeth
Federal Savings?  

 

My clients have an approval from Masbeth to re-finance a loan on their
Manhattan townhouse.  The entire loan is maybe 20% of the value of the
entire 4-unit building.  The current lender is Bank of America (formerly
Countrywide, formerly Greenpoint), and Bank of America can't find their
prior loan documents.  

 

Masbeth's closing attorney says that Masbeth won't close unless they get the
original documents - and they won't accept a lost document affidavit or a
re-stated promissory note.

 

And the original documents include four prior notes.  The lender that
assigned the loan to Greenpoint was SI Bank & Trust, which is now Sovereign
Bank.  

 

Alternatively:  Can anyone suggest a solution that might get Masbeth to
re-consider?  Has anyone else run into this?
