ProjectManager/ Administrator (Part Time)

 
Position DescriptionThe primary function of the Project Manager/Administrator is toprovide support to the Executive Board through administrativeassistance and successfully managing specific projects as assigned.The Project Manager will oversee the organization’s administrationas well as spearhead projects related to fund development, marketing,promoting emergency preparedness programs to residents, healthcareprofessionals, and local businesses, as well as develop andadminister programmatic activities, and manage a group of volunteers.Position reports directly to Executive Director.  Approximately 20hours per week.
Organizational Overview Ready Rockaway is dedicated to preparing the Rockaways and BroadChannel (contiguous with Queens Community Board 14 and the 100 &101 Police Precincts) for any emergency, disaster or catastrophe.Together with our association with the NYC Office of EmergencyManagement and CB 14 CERT Team, the American Red Cross, and with agrant from the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, ReadyRockaway has an Executive Board that consists of members of localhealthcare organizations, as well as experts in emergency planningand response. This position reports to the Executive Director. 
Major Responsibilities

    Serve as the primary contact for    office-related issues   
    

Recruit,    schedule and supervise volunteers   
    

Maintain    accurate records, including mailing lists, databases, photo/video   archives and files, and meeting minutes
    

Conduct research, prepare documents and create reports as requested     
    

Spearhead   management of special projects, including grants and outreach
    

Manage  the execution of and contribute content to the organization’s   website, and online social networks     
    

Prepare and service media releases and maintain communication archives  
    

Develop and implement strategies to effectively grow recruitment and    retention of volunteers and supporters  
    

Provide pre-event, post-event and on-site support for events and activities     
    

Serve   as Ready Rockaway representative at various community and corporate events  

Other duties as assigned
Experience andQualifications

    Reliable, results-oriented  individual, driven to produce concrete and measurable outcomes  
    

Experience  managing City, State or Federal grants, and providing desired   deliverables as requested by grant.
    

Computer    literacy required, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Internet research and database management     
    

Excellent   project management and organizational skills, with the ability to   thrive in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple projects and  tight deadlines, without sacrificing detail or quality of work  
    

Extraordinary   work ethic with a positive, can-do attitude and willingness to work in a collaborative environment with staff, community and corporate  partners, volunteers and stakeholders   
    

Solid   written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly    write for, and articulately speak to a wide range of audiences and  diverse communities     
    

Present a polished, reliable and professional demeanor at all times     
    

Demonstrate ability to serve as an effective speaker to groups and/or   committees, with the proficiency to act as a competent negotiator,  motivator and mediator  
    

Willingness to work evenings, weekends and flex-schedules as needed
    

Able    to meet the physical demands of the position, which may include working outside at events, transferring materials to and from   events, driving, and lifting moderately heavy items     
    

Special event and communication experience  preferred
