A call to all of Gotham. Let's show what Gotham can do and help fellow Gothamite, and esteemed member of the New York Healthcare Group, Jamie Bassel, with a project that is very dear to his heart. It also promises to be a wonderfeul evening.

The Genetic Disease Foundation is holding its annual Gala at the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan. The event is being sponsored by Sherry-Lehmann Wine and Spirits. Volunteers are needed tomorrow, October 14 from 4-10pm. Volunteers would be greeting guests, seating guests and helping in a silent auction. For those Gothamites interested in a great cause, love great wine (must be 21 or older) and wanted to donate their time, please contact Phyllis Hart at 610-649-9801 or Carrie Green at 917-992-2018.

The Genetic Disease Foundation (GDF), a 501 (c) (3) foundation was established in 1997 by patients, parents and families who have suffered from genetic diseases. The Foundation's mission is to support research, education and the prevention of genetic diseases.

Specifically, GDF:

 * supports education programs for the public and physicians to increase their awareness about genetic diseases and the need for and availability of testing for many disorders; and
 * supports research designed to improve genetic testing and to discover ways to treat, cure and ultimately prevent genetic disorders.
 * supports a genetic counselor, a health professional with a master's degree and experience in medical genetics and counseling.

Thank you for your help,
