[Fredslist] Mechanics Lien

Gothamites:
 
We placed a mechanics lien on a property on 9/21/06.  We just got a call
from the Board of the building that they are applying for a new C of O
and they need to close out all remaining issues.  I can't get in touch
with the attorney who filed the original lien and it is my understanding
that a mechanics lien needs to be renewed, which I am not sure that our
attorney did.
 
Can we renew the lien now if it was not done previously?
Can we refile the lien if the original lien expired?
