[Fredslist] Critical update for Medicare Advantage members

I know most Gothamites are too young to be on Medicare, however,
I see postings about an older relatives all the time.  

 

This update is relating to those whom are presently covered by a
Medicare part C (Medicare Advantage Plan).   Many of these plans
decided to discontinue Medicare contracting, therefore about 7%
will lose coverage.  I am concerned about our elders who will
receive notifications that they either won't understand or will
be confused by it.  If they do nothing they will end up with
"regular" Medicare, without supplement and drug coverage. 

Healthcare reform, even if it is signed into law, will not change
the information.
