As employment lawyers, this is the most active legislative agenda that we
have seen in years. For example:

1 Form I-9 has been revised and employers must use the new form
for all hires effective 2/2/09
      2. Major revisions to the Family and Medical Leave Act have
recently become effective requiring changes to your current policies and
procedures.
      3. NYS has new requirements for employers that conduct criminal
background checks.
      4. Effective 2/1/09, covered NYS employers who lay off 25 or more
employees must provide advance notice to employees and regulators.
      5. NYS now requires that employers take precautions to safeguard
employee identification information such as social security numbers.

Are you prepared to comply in this era of change? Klein Zelman's
employment lawyers are ready to answer your questions!
