[Fredslist] Answering David's question re stimulus package

David (and everyone),

If the stimulus package works like typical government funding, then the
money will go to each federal agency as allocated in the package. Each
agency will then take time to decide how it will allocate the funds (within
the guidelines of the stimulus package, of course). Only after then will
notices begin to appear in the Federal Register announcing grant programs
for nonprofits and contract bidding opportunities for businesses. That
means keeping an eye on the Federal Register (and Grants.gov for nonprofits)
and perhaps some other places these things are listed on that I don't know
about.

Whether this process will be fast-tracked somehow, I don't know.

Once a notice is out there, it is up to each nonprofit or business to read
the guidelines and submit the required paperwork by the deadline.

If anyone needs more help with this, feel free to contact me directly.

Good luck to everyone!

Best wishes,

Gail
