While I received the info. below from a very credible source (hence the
reason I sent this out), many Gothamites have pointed out that this may be
misinformation.  While I personally did call to sign up to be sure (it took
about 20 seconds), I wanted to point out that signing up may not be
necessary.  Several people have pointed me to the following site:
http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/cell411.asp.  

 

Apologies if this raised an unnecessary angst.
