We were all taken by surprise with the news about our partner, Mitch Bernstein, passing away early this morning. Because a lot of you have worked with Mitch many of the years he's been with the firm, I'd like to elaborate more about Mitch as a person and a colleague.

Mitch graduated from Syracuse University College of Law cum laude and worked in a family owned firm for a few years. He joined Moses & Singer in 1992 as an associate and became a partner in 1999. He counseled a variety of clients in the entertainment industry , including producers of award-winning children's television series, independent filmmakers, actors, writers, directors, reality and game show creators, website owners, and licensing and branding agents. Mitch also prosecuted and protected domestic and international trademarks. He was an avid theatre goer, was a co-producer of the highly successful Broadway play Spring Awakening and was involved in the production of other film, theatre and television projects (one of which actually featured him as an extra!) Mitch was a skilled attorney, a thoughtful colleague, a passionate Mets and Jets fan and an amazing human being and he will be sorely missed.

The funeral service will be Sunday, April 26th, at 11:45AM at the Riverside Chapel located at 76th Street and Amsterdam Avenue in NYC.
The family will receive friends at Mitch's apartment beginning at 5:00 PM that day.
