[Fredslist] re: Need sources for very low print runs

If anyone has had any positive (or negative) experience with small print runs on a bound book (1-20 copies, hard cover, soft cover), could you please share that with me? Aside from the large art books that I do, I also have private clients who commission Legacy Books and private Art Catalogs of their collections. Spiral binding is not an option (the clients need and deserve a good hard cover binding, or at least a substantial soft-cover). Print runs for these are tiny and I am trying to find the answer to: How do I print and bind this so that it looks professional for my client, who needs only a dozen or less copies?? I have no experience with the "print on demand" world, and would be only willing to work with those companies that have a proven track record with someone I trust (that would be you, my fellow Gothamites!).

Recommendations and advice is most welcome and appreciated.

Many thanks,

Ellin
