Subject: Skeletons at the Feast Has Arrived

Dear Readers and Friends (and Friends Who Read),
So, at long last, it's here.

Today Skeletons at the Feast, a love story set in the last six months of World War II, arrives on library shelves and bookshop displays. At the on-line stores the "Pre-Order" button has been replaced by one that reads "Add to Cart."

I will be visiting stores and libraries from Vermont to Georgia to Washington state – in other words, visiting many of those places I missed on the February-March tour for The Double Bind paperback. Please drop by and say hello. You have no idea how wonderful it is to see a friendly face on day 11 of a book tour, especially after the hotel has lost your underwear and you have just flown backwards in the jump-seat of a Dash-8 through a thunderstorm. (Highlights from that tour. . .)

The first newspaper reviews for Skeletons appeared last week:

"Nail-biting, heart-ripping. . .truly brilliant. The reader of Skeletons at the Feast is quietly checkmated by Bohjalian into a radical compassion we’ve heard somewhere before: Love Thy Enemy. . .I loved this unforgettable novel." -- Tom Paine, The Burlington Free Press

"Bohjalian demonstrates an intricate historical knowledge and impressively illustrates the stark horrors of the time. . .A compelling read with its mix of history, romance and portrayals of strength in the midst of severe adversity: War really is hell, the book says, but the human spirit is ultimately salvageable." --Rebecca Stropoli, Bookpage

You can read an excerpt from the novel, learn about the World War II diary that helped to inspire it, and see my schedule on my web site: www.chrisbohjalian.com

I hope our paths cross this month—or next. (Yes, this is a long tour, too.)

And, most of all, I hope this book—all of my work, to be honest—doesn’t disappoint you. Thank you again for your incredible faith in my fiction.

Sincerely,

Chris B.
