And here is my tale of homeowner woe...  My husband, Stu, and I
purchased a home in Syosset in August of 2007.  Our plan was (and still
is) to renovate by gutting the first floor and adding a second.  The
plans were drawn.  The variance granted.  The permit obtained.  And a
really great general contractor was even found.  Our job was to be
started this month.  To make a very long story short, my contractor has
become ill, requires back surgery, and unfortunately cannot take on our
renovations.  Although we are ready to begin, we have no GC.  Any
recommendations Gotham?  I could use a magic wand right about now...
