JOB OPENING:  CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER (in New York City)

A leading fashion apparel icon and television celebrity is seeking an entrepreneurial Chief Operating Officer for a newly-created start-up company.  [The position is essentially a hybrid between a corporate general counsel and a chief financial officer.]

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    * Establish new corporate identify and infrastructure
    * Manage and negotiate all deals and related legal contracts and strategic partners
    * Provide budget and financial management and accounting oversight
    * Provide daily general counsel responsibilities
    * Oversee personal legal counsel needs and resources (as needed)
    * Provide general administration, human resources, risk management and technology
    * Oversee branding/marketing/promotions activities
    * Manage the company’s overall risks and profitability

 QUALIFICATIONS:

    * A well-experienced Attorney in negotiating and managing apparel and other brand product licensing deals, global trademarks, and entertainment contracts (fashion and/or luxury brand industry experience is a plus).
    * Solid experience in financial management and/or accounting
    * A passion for working in an entrepreneurial start-up environment
    * Strong contract/legal, financial, operational, organizational and communication skills
    * A combination of degrees and certifications -- J.D./MBA or J.D./CPA -- is a requirement
    * Must currently reside within the New York City area.
