The Gotham Swim Team swam a mile for the Red Cross, here's the wife of a
Gothamite doing the same for an equally appropriate cause and it's 6.2

She will have to do the 6+ mile swim across the sound herself
Dear Gothamites
On August 16, 2008, I will again be participating in a 10K swim across
the Long Island Sound ending at Morgan Park in Glen Cove, NY to raise
money for cancer research and treatment priorities.
Like many of the other participants, I am swimming in the memory of
several friends and relatives lost and suffering from this terrible
disease as well as being a survivor myself.
My swimming and fundraising efforts are nothing compared to the
struggle cancer patients face every day. With your help, we have the
chance to bring the cure closer.
This year, we will swim and raise money to help the following
beneficiaries: Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center at Mercy Medical
Center(MSKCC), The Swim Across America Lab at MSKCC, The Children's
Hospital at Montefiore, and Fighting Chance.
If you can help, you can make your donation online via the attached
