Our client, a highly regarded and award winning architecture office
based in New York, is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee
the financial management operations of the firm and to make sure the
company is financially stable, able to pay its bills promptly and to
provide adequate rewards to its owners, principals and staff.  This is
achieved as a result of current operations and longer-term growth
opportunities. 

 

The CFO will:

*	Interface regularly with senior design leaders and management
*	Supervise the financial management and support staff on an
as-needed basis
*	Assist principals and accounts receivable manager with
collection of delinquent accounts receivable
*	Oversee daily cash management including approval of bi-weekly
accounts payable check runs
*	Maintain banking relationship and manage all lending activities
*	Act as chief liaison with outside independent auditors
*	Be responsible for the development of the company's budgets 
*	Advise management of problems and recommend solutions when the
firm is not meeting revenue targets or expense budgets
*	Coordinate goals of the New Business Development team to ensure
adequate pipeline with the firm's operational goals as they relate to
staffing necessary to execute the work
*	Maintain and report all financial statistics regarding the
firm's performance, including P&L reporting, cash flow, key performance
metrics and reporting (including project reporting)
*	Responsible for extensive planning for and coordination of year
end cash basis tax requirements, accrual basis profitability and cash
flow projections - additionally ensuring adequate funding for payment of
all year end bonus pools
*	Be fully responsible for maintaining the Principals' Bonus
Program
*	Provide training to technical and professional staff in
accounting and financial issues that affect them and that then enable
them to perform in their roles with greater success
*	Be able to provide assistance and input to any financial,
project-based and operational matters on a daily basis

 

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is one who is hands-on, enjoys working in an
informal environment, takes responsibility, appreciates design, and has
drive, a great personality and exceptional management skills. Experience
working in a creative project based service environment, preferably an
architecture office or a CPA firm working on similar accounts. 

 

Minimum 10-12 years experience. CPA or MBA
