[Fredslist] How do YOU actively promote your network?

Fellow Gothamites -

As many of you know, my wife and I recently purchased a new home, and
our realtor came through our very own Nancy Turber. After we closed,
the agent said to us "it was a pleasure working with you, and I hope you
continue to view me as a resource. Not just for real estate, but
whatever you may need in the community." Of course his message was that
'I know many people in many fields and they're all quality (if you liked
me, you'll like them). If you need something, and don't know where to
go, call me. I can point you in the right direction.

Of course I responded that I belong to a networking group and that he
should view me as a resource in return, and/or if he is looking to
expand his current network (and that he should join the NJ chapter; who
knows!).

I wonder how many of us do this on a regular basis. For some it
probably comes naturally. I'm not sure about how naturally it comes for
everyone (I'm certainly not perfect). But being part of our tribe means
constantly finding new ways to help one another, and this is a great
example we can all use.

Happy networking!

Best Regards,

Rich Klein
