Subject: First National PABI Conference in NYC
Cara,
The Sarah Jane Brain Foundation is announcing the first National
Pediatric Acquired Brain Injury (PABI) Conference in New York City on
January 8-9. We are bringing together the best in the field of pediatric
acquired brain injury to finish drafting the first-ever National
Pediatric Acquired Brain Injury Plan. We are having a special reception
and dinner on January 8 with our National Advisory Board (see invite
below).
As you know, The Sarah Jane Brain Foundation is named after my 3 year
old daughter who was shaken by her baby nurse when she was 5 days old
causing a severe brain injury. The mission of the foundation is to
assist with the millions of children and their families who suffer from
all pediatric acquired brain injuries (#1 leading cause of death and
disability in the U.S. for children).
I have three questions for you:
1. Do you know anyone in the field of pediatric acquired brain injury
who would like to participate / support our efforts? If so, please
forward the information to them.
2. Do you know any families who have children who have suffered a
pediatric acquired brain injury? If so, please forward this email to
them (below is a description of PABI).
Pediatric Acquired Brain Injuries include traumatic and
non-traumatic brain injuries for children from birth to age 25 (the
adolescent brain doesn't fully develop until 25)
Traumatic injuries include: motor vehicle accidents,
sports-related injuries, falls, assaults/child abuse and blast injuries
for young veterans coming home from Iraq and Afghanistan
Non-traumatic injuries include: brain tumors, strokes,
meningitis, alcohol-poisoning, infections, hypoxia, ischemia)
3. Do you know anyone who would like to attend and support the
reception? If so, please forward this email to them.
If you haven't already seen Sarah Jane on The TODAY Show, there is a
direct link on our homepage www.TheBrainProject.org. Please let me know
your thoughts and please keep Sarah Jane and the millions of other
children like her in your thoughts and prayers - they work!
All the best,
Patrick
P.S. For those who cannot buy a ticket to the reception, we are offering
a ticket for those individuals who recruit 20 Members to our Facebook
page: http://apps.facebook.com/causes/149139?m=febcd8fb
