[Fredslist] Blood is now being rationed to area hospitals

Red Alert,

 

NY Blood Center which is responsible for NYC and Long Island blood
distribution is now forced to ration blood distribution to area hospitals as
of August 4.  Now more than ever our efforts are being called upon.  Please,
please consider taking the risk to ask one other person to help you help
Gotham.  Please, please consider going to a blood center.  

 

Someone told me the finger stick hurts worse than actually giving blood.  A
finger stick take two seconds. (imagine two seconds can save a life!) if
that is the only thing stopping just one person from being brave enough to
try, then I'll personally escort them and hold there hand.  They can join me
and do it with me either in NY or on Long Island... but remember I can only
give blood once in 60 days. So choose which location you want me at and I'll
be there with you.. all of you who want a friend,  join me.. Majority will
decide which location I go to.  

 

May I also tell you that I have something called "rolling veins" which means
that it is not easy to give blood...yet I give because I am O positive.. the
universal donor.  We all have our challenges.. But bravery is not the
absence of fear.. Bravery is doing what is important in the face of it.

 

 

All you need to do is:

 

1.	Choose a date when you can donate and make sure you give our Gotham
group number which is 62920 

a.	Tuesday, August 26th at the Blood Center 200 Park Avenue in the Met
Life Building above Grand Central Station from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. 
b.	Thursday, August 28th at the Milleridge Inn, Rt 106 Jericho, NY
(Long Island) 
c.	Or choose a date a date and time to go to the local blood center
nearest you with the Gotham group number - 62920- anytime between now and
August 28th     
d.	Our out-of-town groups in NJ, CT, Boston, LA, and Fla, can
participate in their state at a local blood center nearest them. 

 

2.	Contact friends, family, colleagues and invite them to join us for
our Gotham Gives Back: Give Blood campaign. 

a.	It's a unique way to network, get to know one another, impress a
client, and introduce new blood (pun intended) to Gotham. 
b.	Forward this email to your other list serves and centers of
influence. It's that easy:-) ! 

  

3.	Make sure you let the donation center know you are donating as part
of Gotham Gives Back: Give Blood campaign (give them our group number 62920)
so we can track our goals. 

 

4.	Show up for their appointment, roll up a sleeve, sit back, relax,
and enjoy the good feeling of knowing you are making a difference
