[Fredslist] DEADLINE FOR DONATIONS EXTENDED -Friday Sept 21 is World Alzheimer's Day

Good morning Gotham,
 
Thank you to all of you who made a donation - know that your donation
will make a difference!
 
I am pleased to let you know that the deadline for having your donation
matched by the Harrah's Foundation to support the Alzheimers Association
has been extended through the end of September.
 
Those of you who know me, know that this horrific, debilitating disease
has touched my family - I am working to raise awareness in the hopes
that it does not touch any more of us.  
 
Did you know:
*	There are 5 million Americans currently living with this disease
*	10 million of us are caregivers for our loved ones with this
disease
*	it is the 7th leading cause of death in the US today
*	research funding has been cut
*	If something isn't done about it now, an estimated 16 million
people will have it by the year 2050 - that's our lifetime my friends -
we need to increase research funding and stop this in its tracks.
