Dear friend: As many of you know I have served on the Board of Trustees of St Anthony high school in Jersey City for many years. The school is a beacon of hope to inner city kids Best known for its championship boys' basketball team and its legendary coach Bob Hurley, the school accepts students without regard  to religion and provides them with a quality, caring and value-oriented education. 

 

The Super Bowl raffle is a major fund raiser and the prize is unique in that the winner has invitations to VIP events and great seats ^ our donor assists the NFL in organizing the events. I sold last year's winning ticket to Mike Gennusa who took his young son Nick. Nick wrote the letter below to the family friends. I think they had a great time.

 
This year's first prize winner receives:

*          2 Tickets to Super Bowl XLII on Feb. 3, 2008 in Glendale (Phoenix) Arizona.

*          2 Round-trip tickets to Phoenix from any major US city (Depart: Thurs. Jan. 31, return Mon, Feb. 4, 2008).

*          Accommodations for 2 at an NFL Headquarters hotel in the Phoenix area for the nights of Jan. 31 to Feb. 4, 2008;

*          Participation for 2 in the NFL Celebrity Golf and Bowling Tournaments and a "by- invitation-only" NFL cocktail party

 

This year's second and third prize winners receive an elegant leather and wool St. Anthony jacket.

 

The ticket cost is $100 ^ only 700 tickets will be sold!
 
The drawing will take place on December 12, 2007 @ 2:30 PM at the high school. The winner does not need to be present. The school will contact him/her and assist in the coordination of necessary arrangements.
 
As we have done in the past please either respond to this e-mail or call me and I will mail the ticket(s) to you. Even if you don't like football or would not be interested in the Superbowl please buy a ticket to support these deserving kids. Mike and Nick's Superbowl Adventure

*	Arrived at  Ft Lauderdale and rented a Mustang Coupe Convertible 
*	Went Bowling at Strike Miami at the Dolphin Mall in Miami. 
*	Nick took a picture with Brad Van Pelt, NY Giants linebacker, #10, he was happy to give Nick his autograph. I said to Brad that I was trying to remember his number and #10 kept popping up in my mind, but that was Fran Tarkenton's number, he said I was right....he also wore #10 for the Giants, he seemed to appreciate that I knew his number. 
*	I could not believe I saw Lynn Swann and took pictures with him. He signed my bowling pin. 
*	I also met Leroy Kelly, Jerry Kramer, and Garo Yupremian, Kendrick Allen # 97 on Packers, Matt Barr,

*	I hung out with my dad's friends, Mike, Jay, and Dominic on South Beach. 
*	We went to the pairings party and saw all the guys from the following night.        
*	There were lots of auctions at the party there were signed helmets signed pictures. We didn't buy any but it was fun to watch how much money people would buy the item.

*        The best day of my life period

*        We also met Sandi Taylor on the bus to golf. Sandi is an actress in movie The Princess Diary's 1 and 2, Raising Helen with Kate Hudson and about 12 other movies. She has also been on Jay Leno Show, David Lettermen, Conan O'Brian, and Howard Stern 43 times!!! She was generous. 

*        I was Ricky Hunley's ball getter. But that wasn't the fun part.

*        These guys had to leave because their bus was about to go back to their hotel so they gave me these raffle tickets. 

*         He gave me at least 30 tickets and everyone else had already left called 4 numbers and nobody was there to claim their prize. 2917, 2916, and 291- I got it!!!!!!!!! 

*        I just won $2,400 cash. 

*        I also got Lawrence Taylor's autograph Doug Williams, and Nate Burleson. I bought all my friends souvenirs. I bought my dad dinner.

*        I called my friend and he went crazy when I told him that I won $2,400. 

*         I went to sleep at 11:00 that night.

 

 

Sunday February 4, 2007

 

 

*        The First WET Super Bowl in history.

*        It was so fun I saw Prince at halftime and Billy Joel singing the National Anthem and Circe Du Sole'. You couldn't hear anything.

*        It was awesome to see the thunderbirds fly over the stadium. 

*        We were prepared for the rain but it didn't matter because my shorts were soaked and it was impossible to move in them and it 

       wasn't good that are mustang was at the end of the lot.    

*        Everyone was rooting for the bears but I was for the Colts.

*        I had such a fun time.
