Gotham,

An old friend called, male, 54, newly-diagnosed with esophageal cancer which
will require surgery and follow up care to the tune of $200 300 K.

He does not have insurance. He does however, have a lot of equity in his
house, and should be able to cover it with an HE loan.

It¹s my understanding that he should negotiate prices and fees ahead of time
with the hospital - do any of you have experience here, guidelines to
follow that can help me support him through this maze?

His surgeon is in residence at LIJ here on Long Island I¹ve always heard
that if you have cancer, Sloan-Kettering is your best choice. Thoughts on
this point?

Thanks in advance, Gotham.

Jennifer
