Account  Manager 
The Account Manager (AM) is the  base tier within the Search Operations (SO) 
track.  AMs are responsible for the day-to-day  execution and management of 
client campaigns.  General duties  include: 
New Business 
Client Relationships 
Client Strategy/On-Going Execution 
·         Understanding Account Strategy  & Campaign Success Metrics  
·         Collaborate with CSL on Project  Deliverable Timeline 
·         Update  CSL on completed activity date for Project Plan 
·         Management of day-to-day client  accounts and campaigns 
o        Keyword  Analysis  
o        Paid  Campaign Optimization 
§         Keyword  Bucketing 
§         Keyword  Expansion/Contraction 
§         Upload  Creative Sheets 
§         IOs 
§         Bid  Management  
§         Creative  Testing 
§         LP  Testing 
o        SEO  Campaign Optimization 
§         Content  Development Recommendations 
§         Copywriting  oversight 
§         Notify  Andy when ClickTracks needed to be established 
§         Link  Activation 
§         Deliver  Monthly Optimization Recommendations 
·         Client  Reporting 
o        Set-Up  Template for On-Going reporting & explain to SS 
o        Review  Completed Report 
o        Create  Executive Summary for Client Report 
o        Provide  analysis of reports  
o        Developing Action Items based on  report findings 
·         Communication 
o        Communicating Learnings and Results  to Client as scheduled 
o        First  Line of Engine Interaction for Account  
o        Advanced  Preparation for Client/Vendor/Internal  
Meetings/Discussions 
o        Client  & Vendor Meetings/Conference Call Interaction 
o        Delivery  of Call Recaps to Client & Internal Team 
·         QA all  documents prior to Internal Delivery (CSLs &  Analytics) 
·         Day-to-day management of Search  Specialist’s tasks specific to 
client 
·         Account  Performance Troubleshooting 
·         Providing Data & Analysis to  CSL for Inclusion in Presentations 
·         Responsible for Achievement of  Campaign Goals 
Finance 
·         Responsible for creation, delivery,  and top line management of 
budgets 
·         Timely  Review/Approval of Invoices against IOs 
·         Update  PPC Spend Actuals Documents Monthly for AP/Client 
Misc 
·         Develop  relationship with appropriate engine contact (day-to-day  
staff) 
·         Stay  Abreast of Latest Search Information (New Offerings, Engine 
Changes,  Etc) 
·         When communicating  with client and team members the email sender 
needs to CC other team members to  keep them in the loop on account 
developments, etc. 
·         Coordinate Vacation  time with Acct CSL for coverage 
Measure of AM  Success: 
·         Campaign Success (meeting or  exceeding goals) 
·         Client  Retention 
·         Client  Growth
Time  Expectations 
Outrider maintains an expectation  of the amount of time that should be 
billable for client work. All other time,  which falls into one of the categories 
below is above and beyond that level.  This time will vary on a monthly basis. 
Admin  - Non client related activities (Social  Thursday type events, 
Industry Email, IT, Non client internal  meeting) 
Practice Lead – Its own code under  Admin 
New Business – Any Biz Dev research  should be entered as NB, once Set-Up 
work is being done it will be considered  Active and will be transferred into 
TEMPO once a code is set-up. Working trade  show is NB for staff 
Training – Any in office training  sessions schedule with vendors or internal 
resources, Attending trade show is  training for Operations 
Travel – Travel to and from client  location and time with client is client 
billable. Overnight time is not client  billable.  
Vacation 
Vacation time must be approved by  Managers. Any vacation time longer than 2 
business days should be submitted 4  weeks in advance of the vacation. Upon 
requesting vacation approval coverage of  all account responsibilities should 
have been considered and coordinated with  the remainder of the Account team.  
Personal Days and lesser amounts of  vacation still need manager approval as 
well as account team responsibility  coverage. These periods may be submitted 
closer to actual days off. However,  vacation time may be denied based on 
account coverage and staff  activities. 
Client travel requires informing  your Manager and also account  coverage.
