Did You Know...

March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb. To make sure that lion doesn’t eat away your property investment, follow these tips:

♦ After a long winter of expanding and contracting due to ice and snow, make sure all of your gutters are securely fastened to rooftop edges. Seasonal high winds can separate loose gutters from your home, creating damage.

♦ Make sure that your gutters are clean and debris-free. Clogged gutters create drainage back-up, which can lead to roof leaks. Also check that your downspouts are positioned away from the foundation. As with gutters, if the water is not directed away from the building properly, it can lead to foundation and/or basement leaks.

♦ If you utilize a sump pump for sub level drainage, check it regularly. Seasonal rain and ground saturation from the winter thaw can lead to high water tables and poor ground water absorption.

♦ If you find any evidence of water incursion or other problem, contact Branch <http://www.opalcomputing.com/org/MailSrvc/redirect.cfm?ID=12988&MID=163&LID=14&EID=7638> Restoration immediately for suggestions and help.

Helpful Hints:
March Blooms – Do they also Include Harmful Mold?

Spring blooms are delightful to view, but they can bring problematic symptoms to those of us who suffer from allergies. Mold, a common allergen during this time of year, lays dormant during cool winter months waiting for the warm, wet days of spring to arrive. Mold thrives where heat and moisture exist.

If you find yourself faced with a mold situation, use care with the way you handle it, since your well-intentioned efforts can spread mold spores throughout the property and make the situation worse. Contact Branch <http://www.opalcomputing.com/org/MailSrvc/redirect.cfm?ID=12989&MID=163&LID=14&EID=7638> Restoration for advice and a free estimate as quickly as possible.
