Hi,
I am the NYC volunteer coordinator for Fast Company magazine's global
readers network. The group is called New York Company of Friends.
Although primarily a "virtual" community we do schedule events.
Please see the following "lunch 'n learn" being held on 3/29. This is
going to be a terrific presentation by Marshall Makstein, an expert
in the world of power point.
There are a few seats available so if you are interested in attending
please send me an email and I will put you on the security list.
Thanks.
Thurs, March 29th, 2007; 12:30pm to 2pm
BYO Lunch
Location:
eSlide
330 Madison Ave, 6th floor
(corner of Madison Ave. and 42nd St.)
NY, NY 10017
Topic:
How to avoid "That Meeting Sucked" Syndrome
(We've all been there. Perhaps we've even had a role in it! The
speaker that reads their PowerPoints. The presentation that
has strayed off course. The glazed eyes and squirming bodies in the
audience that signal their overwhelming distress.) So...how do you
make it better?
Five tips to having a great meeting
Five tips to avoid having an awful meeting
Critical meeting communication (you ARE how you sound and look)
How to create high-impact, effective PowerPoint slides (those
PowerPoints don't have to suck!)
Bottom line:
We all are involved in making presentations to clients and prospects.
Even master presenters continually train and practice so regardless
of your experience, come out and hear from a professional. And of
course, there is the added bonus of meeting and interacting with your
fellow attendees.
