Mr. Klein,
Thank you very much for returning my call. As we discussed, my
undergraduate years were spent at Duke University, where I walked on the
Men's Lacrosse Team and played alongside Palin Archer. Upon graduating and
after a couple years as a paralegal, I attended and received my J.D. at
Washington University in St. Louis.

After I graduated, I spent a year practicing Indian law in northern
California before moving to New York. I took and passed the February 2007
bar examination (admission is pending). While searching for a permanent
associate position, I sought legal work as a contract attorney through
Update Legal. I was placed with Sullivan & Cromwell in April and am still
working here, despite interviews with Bingham McCutchen and Curtis,
Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle (both firms' needs were filled by their
incoming first-year classes).

I am currently seeking employment as a litigation associate. Due to my
somewhat unconventional work experience, I fully expect to enter as a
first-year associate. In my research I have looked at several firms of
varying size. As a result of my research, I would be happy with positions
paying between $85K and $145K.

Any advice or suggestions you may have as I continue my search for
permanent employment is very much appreciated. I look forward to hearing
from you again soon. Thanks again.

Respectfully submitted,
Daniel Roediger

P.S. Please note the e-mail on my resume differs from the one I am
currently using. Sullivan & Cromwell prohibits the use of hotmail and other
similar personal e-mail sites during work hours, but I can access my
hotmail account during lunch and after hours.
