[Fredslist] More on lack of blog comments

Here is some information on how few people comment on blogs.

Are You a Lurker or a Contributor?
The (original) blogging evangelist, Andy Wibbels, offered a post on Jakob Nielsen statistics about blog commenting. Very interesting. Here are the stats:
- 90% of users are lurkers (i.e., read or observe, but don't contribute).
- 9% of users contribute from time to time, but other priorities dominate their time.
- 1% of users participate a lot and account for most contributions.

What we need is some brainstorming ideas for how to change those percentages.
