Thanks to those who helped my contact at WSJ with her last story. Sarah has
forwarded me her newest topic - she would love to hear from people who can
speak to her on the following topics:
Sarahs email to me A recruiter at a large staffing firm in Chicago claims
there's a new trend in which hiring managers are targeting back-to-work-moms
for positions that young men and women without kids also would qualify for.
They're looking to this demographic because they are responsible and on set
time schedules, whereas folks without kids are prone to spending work time
on Instant Messenger, their social calendar and office romances and also are
more prone to arriving hung over, tired, etc.
So I'm wondering, can hiring managers at your organization testify to
something along these lines? If so, I'm all ears! I realize that this may
be a touchy subject, but an interesting one. Of course, the story also would
discuss programs that serve as incentives for attracting working moms.
Thanks.
