I have a client who buys and sells certain products all over the world.
The client is a NY corporation.  The client wants to establish an entity
in a favorable foreign tax jurisdiction (i.e.: Cyprus) to do the
purchasing from its vendors in various foreign countries.  The foreign
entity would then sell the inventory to the NY corporation for
manufacturing.  The client also wants to set up a US trust to own the
foreign corporation.  The US trust would receive dividends from the
foreign entity.  The owners of the NY corporation would be the income
beneficiaries of the trust.  The client thinks that they could reduce
their income tax by utilizing this approach.  The client has asked me
for a referral for an attorney with experience in this area to opine on
whether this plan works and to establish the necessary entities.
