[Fredslist] Medical help needed for a dear freind

Gotham Members,
I have a dear friend who unfortunately has a brain tumor. She's currently at Hackensack University Hospital in Hackensack, NJ. and things look very bleak. Her attending physician is Dr. Charles Hesdorffer and at one time, she was treated with an 'off label' drug called Avastin and she reacted well to the treatments .Now the hospital has discouraged the use of this 'off label' drug and her mother is not sure why. Her mother is not ready to say goodbye to her daughter and she needs help to get to the bottom of this. She doesn't believe insurance is the problem, since they've paid for the treatments before, but who knows.
If anyone knows any decision makers at the hospital, who could possibly provide answers, or could approve the treatments, please contact Karen Siver (mother) directly.
