Fred suggested I send my response to his hurricane inquiry to Fredslist
in the event there are any scientists among us or our acquaintances who
may shed further light on the explosion of this devastating phenomenon.

My lay understanding is that the atmosphere is so systemic that anything
that balances it in one location will precipitate adverse if not
cataclysmic changes elsewhere.

Further, the root cause of the seismic hurricane activity seems to be
the elevated temperatures of the ocean's surface resulting from
increased atmospheric carbon activity that settles on the surface and
heats it which in turn heats up the atmosphere and magnifies the energy
in a normal hurricane.

This phenomenon is the direct by-product of industrial and automotive
emissions. The most probable solution resides in global environmental
control standards of which the
US is one of the greatest offenders.

I am far from a scientist, but the notion hit me that with all our
scientific prowess-we did harness the atom-why can't scientists come up
with some sort of aggressive attack strategy as to hurricanes, rather
than our just hunkering down, retreating and surrendering to them. I
remember when I was a boy, during droughts, planes would "seed" the
clouds. Why not some similar effort at raising the low pressure or
turning around the swirl? Just wondering?
