Dear Fellow Gothamites:
 
This is a personal plea from me, to all of you, regarding my very near and
dear friend and a fellow Gothamite, Joan Wallach of the Women's Group.
 
Joan was diagnosed with Lung Cancer in May of this year.
 
Her daughter Dana will be participating in A Step Closer, which raises funds
for Cancer Care of Long Island.
 
Please consider giving with all your heart for a very worthy cause. (see
below)

This fall I am participating in A Step Closer...The 3rd Annual Lung Cancer
Walk to raise funds for CancerCare of Long Island. 

CancerCare, a nonprofit organization, has provided a wide range of services
to people touched by the crisis of cancer for 60 years. Each year CancerCare
of Long Island helps thousands of cancer patients and their families.
Services include counseling, practical help, financial assistance, and
education programs. These services are free-of-charge and are made available
to cancer patients of all ages, at all stages of the disease, and to the
bereaved. CancerCare helps people throughout Long Island with locations in
Woodbury, Ronkonkoma, and Oceanside. CancerCare receives no federal or state
funding, making your donation so important to CancerCare.

I would like to invite you to join me in this endeavor and participate in A
Step Closer... There are two ways for you to participate:

(1) Walk with me! Register on-line at www.lilungcancerwalk.org
(2) If you are unable to walk, sponsor me by making a donation to
CancerCare.
