World renowned film director, NYU professor and ColumbiaU Deputy Chair, and recipient of numerous prestigious international cine awards, Sumner Glimcher, will share with us a private screening of his award winning film on the 6th Century "Confucius" (Kung Fu-tsu), his life, writings, beliefs, and teachings. Enjoy a peek into the philosophy that has shaped much of Asian ethics. Fred & Nancy have built Gotham's networking philosophy on, "It is better to give than to receive, but what goes around, comes around." Confucius may just have been the original prototype Gotham Asian Networker, as he taught, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

Continuing to honor that from those who've come before, our own Co-Chair Mynoon Doro, will provide a selection of exquisite antique and contemporary Asian items from her personal collection for sale.

Keeping in the festive mood of the evening and season, Xiaoning Wang will bring a sizeable selection of items for sale from her Chinese Cultural Educational Products website offering apparel/accessories/ arts&crafts/toys/music/books/ video&DVD/home décor. Please visit her wonderful site at www.chinasprout.com to see the vast range of items. There's items for her/him/kiddies, holiday decorations, greeting cards, wrapping paper, jewelry, awesome silk brocade pencil boxes for $4.95!

And, once again, we are grateful to GANG's Thai Wine & Beer Importer, Sara Paleewong, who has graciously offered to provide each table with a bottle of her most popular lychee wine.

Everyone, please remember to bring plenty of business cards!

As we're a relatively new group, we still have many slots open for new members with less likelihood that they'll be conflicts. (You may pass along professional information to me so that I may field potential 'conflicts,' and give an OK for guests to attend.) Our meetings are vital for the Asian Group as we grow into a cohesive, supportive, dynamic force within the Gotham Family. You're encouraged to invite friends and colleagues to attend as guests to add to our already strong foundation of founding members.

We will be welcoming two new Members since our last meeting and we hope that the Gotham Family will join us in this hearty welcome.

Just a reminder . . . Riding-the-Circuit is one of the best ways to network and meet a new group of people to whom you can spread the word of what you do and how you can be of help to them. Some groups meet at lunchtime, others for breakfast. There's groups in Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island, Manhattan, Westchester, etc., so one might be convenient to attend near your home before work. Check it out on the Gotham site http://www.gothamnetworking.com

Although, GANG Members have been most gracious in waiving the 'no conflict' guideline, it is still necessary to clear guests and circuit riders for potential conflicts. To this end, and because space is limited, and many will be away for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend which is the Thursday prior to GANG's Dinner Meeting, please RSVP by 11/23rd, with your reservations.

Thanx.
Cheers!
