After months of planning, The Wine Auction, Tasting, Dinner and yes - Networking Event will take place TONIGHT, Thursday 11/10 @ 6:30PM in Rye, NY - for directions go to http://www.hubnortheast.com/wineauction   (only 35 minutes from Queens or Manhattan). All Proceeds will go to the Maria Ferari Childrens Hospital@ Westchester Medical Center a very special health care facility treating children fighting for their lives. Dozens of Gothamites have been instrumental in making this a very special evening, a fundraiser and an event not to be missed. 

For those who are spontaneous, you can still join over 200 others this evening. Admission is $125.with dinner, plenty of wine, (and vodka) to drink and an outstanding silent and live auction. For last minute reservations just send an e-mail to Lisette @ the hospital DePew-KubieL at WCMC.com to let her know you are attending. You can either pay by credit card over the phone or bring a check to the door. There are plenty of fine wines to taste, bottles to bid on as well as many other exciting items to bid on. S1. 1999 Case of Italian Wines- 6 bottles of S. Martino (Bolgheri).  This Cabernet Sauvignon grape is grown in the Bolgheri region of Western Tuscany.  Exceptional vintage.  Donated by Frank Delucia.  Value $300.  Opening bid $225.

S2. Basket of beauty- Elizabeth Arden basket of products.  Skin care, makeup, fragrance, it's all here.  This basket will inspire a whole new look.  Value $500.  Donated by Stephen Smith of Elizabeth Arden. Opening bid $300.

S3. Conan O'Brien Tickets- 2 tickets to The Conan O'Brien Show.  Tape date to be arranged by winner with NBC.  Attendees must be 16 or older. Donated by NBC Corporate Philanthropy. Opening bid $200.

S13. 1999 Joseph Phelps Insignia Magnum- This Bordeaux blend offers dense purple colored fruit, a nose of incense and spice box, black fruits and vanilla.  French in style, not like the other overpowering California wines of 1997.  Donated by Marci and Michael Wade.  Value $200. Opening bid $125.

S14. 1993 Latour Paulliac- Black walnut, Cassis and earth-scented nose, medium to full-bodied, gorgeously rich, concentrated fruit and high tannin with a powerfully long finish.  Donated by Avis and Bruce Richards.  Value $200.  Opening bid $125.

S15. 1993 Chateau Lafite Rothschild Paulliac- Tightly wound with intense ruby to purple color, sweet black currant, weedy tobacco and lead pencil scents.  A terrific success for this vintage.  Donated by Avis and Bruce Richards.  Value $200. Opening bid $125.

S16. 1999 La Ponderina Brunello Di Montalcino- Ripe, sweet and smoky in aromatic character.  Concentrated raspberry flavor with definition and complexity.  An impeccable example of Montalcino at it's best.  Donated by Carol and Lenny Turk.  Value $100. Opening bid $50.

S17. 1992 Opus One- Offers a beautiful dark ruby/purple color, a big spicy nose of cassis, lead pencil and smoky oak.  Round full-bodied, broad, fat flavors of black fruit with a soft fine tannin.  Donated by Steven Green.  Value $300. Opening bid $200.

S18. 1988 Chateau Ducru-Beau Saint Julien- Recalls the style of the best 1966 Medoc wines.  High tannins, good ripeness of fruit and a sense of compactness and roughness.  Donated by Steven Green.  Value $150. Opening bid $100.

S19. 1988 Chateau Canon Saint Emilion- Rich and concentrated purple color with spice, mineral and cassis-scented bouquet.  Outstanding concentration of black fruit with plenty of length on the palate.  Donated by Steven Green.  Value $160. Opening bid $100.

S20. 2001 Whitehall Lane Cabernet Reserve- From one of the California's elite Cabernet producers, this bottle has dense, dark black fruit wrapped tightly in oak with hints of chocolate and a long velvety smooth finish.  Donated by Carol and Lenny Turk.  Value $140. Opening bid $90.

S21. 1994 Joseph Phelps Insignia- An unquestionably opulent, sexy, flamboyant, explosively rich wine to drink.  Already gorgeous, it promises to evolve gracefully for two decades or more.  Donated by Victoria and Laurent Drogin.  Value $150. Opening bid $100.

S22. "I want to be a Weatherman"- Call for rain or snow on your guest spot during the WB 11 morning news program.  Must be 16 years old.  Value priceless.  Donated by Denise and Adam Groothuis.  Value Priceless. Opening bid $500.

L1.  2001 Domaine De La Romanee Conti- The outstanding , medium to dark ruby colored Richebourg reveals a nose of spiced cherries and creamy blackberries.  It expands on the palate with toasted oak and black cherry syrup.  Donated by Julie and Ryan Bailey.  Value $550. Opening bid $350.

L2.   1992 Christian Moueix Dominus Magnum- This blend of Cabernet, Cabernet Franc, Merlot & Petite Verdot is an opulent, concentrated wine with great ripeness of fruit and a huge nose of earth, black cherries and mocha. Donated by Avis and Bruce Richards.  Value $450.  Opening bid $300.

L3.  1985 Chateau Lafite Rothschild- Herb and leather scented bouquet, forward and developed flavors displayed in a medium bodied format.  Softly Tannic on the finish.  Donated by Frances Arkin.  Value $275.  Opening bid $175.

L4. The Wine Vault One Year Membership- The Wine Vault, which will soon be Westchester's newest state-of-the-art wine storage facility, will open its doors this month.  Be one of the first to call this facility home for your wine collection.  A one year membership will include a private storage locker that can hold twenty cases in an environment with temperature and humidity controls, on site staff, backup generators and a fabulous tasting room for clients. L5. 1967 Petrus Pomerol- Fully mature with good dark ruby color and mini-mal browning, this chunky fleshy warm and generous wine has plenty of Merlot fruit, a viscous, weight texture and fast fading tannin.  Donated by Judith Stern-Rosen.  Value $1,200.  Opening bid $500.

L6.  Campogiovanni Brunello Di Montalcono, vertical 1985, 1986,1988, 1990- A tremendous collection offering a dark earthy complexity, old world style and distinguished palate.  Layers and length offered through all four vintages.   This is a "true" vertical tasting. Donated by Andrea and Richard Saperstein.  Value $550. Opening bid $250.

L7.  Wine tasting for 10- Teed Welch will host a Wine Tasting for 10, to be held on a date and at a location of mutual convenience.  This will be a "single blind" tasting and will include between 6-8 vintage California or Bordeaux style wines from years in themed 1980's and maybe even a renowned California 1974 vintage, difficult to find even in the most discerning of collections.  While the final lineup will be open to some choice, and based on the final value of the winning bid, choices can include names like; Mondavi, Phelps, BVPR, selections from Diamond Creek (RRT, Gravely Meadow, Volcanic Hill), Trefethen, Conn Creek, or, Mount Eden, just to mention a few.  We might have some French Bordeauxs as ringers.  For example, with a minimum bid of $5,000, the tasting party could include a 1970 Petrus and a 1970 Latour as part of the lineup.  It is hard to find many of these wines at any price.  The tasting will be fun and educational and an opportunity to taste wines usually consumed years ago from people's wine cellars.  The evening can focus on just the tasting or can be a prelude to (or part of) a dinner (not included in this package).  Donated by Teed Welch.  Value priceless.  Minimum bid $1,500.

L8. 1959 Chateau Beychevelle Saint Julien- Aromas and flavors of melted licorice and crème de cassis.  Toasted oak, fabulously concentrated with low acid yet a super endowed wine.  Donated by Rhoda and Don White.   Value $250.  Opening bid $150.

L9. 1966 Chateau Lafite Rothschild Paulliac- Dry, austere classic Lafite style with dense fruit, powerful tannin, and hints of leather, tobacco and coffee.  Donated by Ben Lipschitz.  Value $250.  Opening bid $150.

L10.1966 Gressier Grand Poujeaux Moulis- Light and smooth, hints of berry leave their mark.  Donated by Rhoda and Don White.  Value $100.  Opening bid $50.

L11. 1982 Chateau Phelan Se'gur Saint Estephe- Full bodied and round with pleasing aroma and smooth finish.  Donated by Ben Lipschitz.  Value $150.  Opening bid $100.

L12.  1964 Vino Barolo- Everybody loves a Barolo, how about this old one that is so hard to find?  Rich and dark, the smooth taste will leave you satisfied.  Donated by Robert Fiorito.  Value $250.  Opening bid $150.

L13. 1987 Chateau Montelena- The black/purple color, the extraordinary bouquet of rich cassis, violets and licorice give this wine sensational depth, super ripeness and a length that must last over a minute.  Donated by Victoria and Laurent Drogin.  Value $175.  Opening bid $100.

Fabulous trio of wine- 1998 Beaux Freres, 1999 Kistler and 2,000 Turley Juvenile Zinfandel-(1) rich and generous in flavor, has layers of complexity without excess weight.(2) Young, intense and tightly wound, with vibrant pear, citrus, anise and cedary oak flavors, picking up touches of vanilla and lemon on the long, complex finish.
