Being Julia

The film is a little theatrical, spoken in British English, and it is indeed 
about Julia, a theater "dame". Some passages are a little slow. The plot is 
very interesting and somewhat unexpected. But Annette Benning's (spell check 
doesn't work on people's names) performance is absolutely fabulous. 
Cinematography and direction are also great! Annette for best actress...

A Million Dollar Baby

This is a million dollar winner of the Oscar. What a great film - acting, 
direction, cinematography. Great story. And the best is that though a kind of 
"film noire", it could be very much an European film. Very "realistic" direction. 
Acting by the three main stars - Clint Eastwood, Hillary Swank and Morgan 
Freeman are superb. And acting by other support actors are great as well. Oscar 
for Best Film, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, but Hillary will have a tough 
time to beat Annette. 

....but at the Oscar's the only predictability is that the results are 
unpredictable....
