Job Description         -           Portfolio Development Representative
(PDR)                  

 

Location:                    New York, NY

 

Reporting Line:         EVP

 

Position Overview & Key Responsibilities:

 

The goal of the Portfolio Development Representative is to increase gross
income per existing client (objectives and tactics will be discussed below).
As such, this role can be considered "inside sales".  The main objectives
will be to increase the average client loan life, to cross-sell BLX products
and to obtain customer referrals.  A byproduct of PDR actions and
initiatives should be enhanced client experience at BLX.  To accomplish
these objectives, the PDR will be required to act as client liaison with the
sales team, the closing team, the payment processing team, the servicing and
collections team, the servicing actions team and in some cases the workout
team.

 

Immediate and primary responsibilities will include:

 

*         Customer Retention

o        Convert refinance inquiries

o        Payoff request intervention

o        New loan evaluation

 

*         Cross-selling

o        SBA Express

 

Secondary responsibilities will include:

 

*         Use feedback from existing borrowers to continuously develop and
refine customer service initiatives.  Make recommendations for improvements;
for example:

 

*         Courtesy calls to clients post-close

o        Introduce PDR and role

o        Inquire as to experience to date

o        Note areas of improvement and communicate to group managers

 

*         Servicing Request Analysis

o        Evaluate and present for approval if required

 

Qualifications:

*         BA/BS degree required (business degree preferred)

*         Minimum 3 years experience in loan underwriting, development,
customer service or sales

*         SBA loan underwriting or development a plus

*         Superior problem solving/negotiation skills and a broad
understanding of all aspects of a credit with the ability to balance client
accommodation and the best interests of the lender

*         Excellent communication skills, specifically telephone and email -
both external and internal

*         Strong interpersonal skills required for cross-departmental
communications and relationship development

 

Compensation:

*         Base salary commensurate with experience + annual subjective bonus
opportunity
